LOTD :: CiTY MiX

"CiTY MiX"

LOOK OF THE DAY

Happy Thursday! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

For today's look of the day, I decided to go with a mix of different textures to create a City Chic look that is edgy, casual yet polished but still has that effortless feel.

We start off with a plain v neck tee by H&M paired with pleather skinny trousers by Primark.  I tucked one side of the tee into the left pocket of the pleather trousers to give it that cool effortless feel and belted the trouser with my Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo hand me down two toned leather waist belt.  As the tee is a little on the sheer side I have a nude vest underneath and layered over an outsized leopard printed cardigan by Primark.  For outerwear, I layered my faux shearling gilet with black leatherette trim tie - in waist belt by H&M over my Topshop black quilted moto leather jacket to give me that chic bohemian biker look.

On bottom, I wanted to create a streamlined silhouette for the bottom half of today's ensemble so I decided to go with my New Look black buckled ankle booties.  I tucked the ends of the trousers into the booties to create one long leggy silhouette and because of the texture of the trouser being similar to that of the booties it definitely gave me that streamlined silhouette I was going for.

For accessories, I went complete opposite from yesterday's minimal approach and went with layering necklaces and a handful of rings.  The layered necklaces are all from H&M while the rings are a mix of heirloom, Topshop and H&M.  An outfit would not be complete if there is no watch so like always I have on a simple analogue watch by ASOS.  Further into the rest of the accessories, as per the norm the brooch by Topshop is forever pinned into my faux shearling gilet; I have on my Aztec printed oversized scarf by H&M to keep me warm of course and finished off the accessories by wearing my black cat ear riding cap courtesy of ASOS.

Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is the JustFab.co.uk Céline Luggage Tote dupe which is the cherry red faux crocodile Parisian.  I thought that the bag would be a fitting pop of colour in a very muted look.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! ...XOXO...

LOTD :: Polished Sport

"Polished Sport"

LOOK OF THE DAY

HAPPY HUMP DAY! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

For today's look of the day I wanted to create a look that is both casually sporty and polished.  Who says you can't mix both? Well probably a lot but I'm still going for it.  Today's is all about pairing your basic pieces that has a polished feel to it and pieces that lends a sporty touch however little it may be.  By keeping your accessories to a bare minimum execution of this look will result in a total chic ensemble.

We start off with a gingham button up by Primark paired with olive cargo skinnies by New Look.  I buttoned the shirt all the way to the top to give it that polished feel but left it untucked for a more casual look, I belted the skinnies with tan concho style leather waist belt by River Island to match it with the booties that I am wearing.  I then layered over a monochromatic star print outsized sweater, I cuffed the sleeves to have the same peeking effect the top of the shirt has with the sleeves.  For outerwear, I went with my trusty camel wool duffle coat by Uniqlo complete today’s polished sport day look.

On bottom, I went with my New Look brown cross buckled ankle booties.  These have been my go to booties for the rainy days here in London [TMI].  The booties brings in a subtle biker element but still ties in with the whole polished sporty look I am going for

For accessories, I kept it minimal via a simple curved bar necklace by H&M followed by a simple analogue watch by ASOS and a stack of simple silver bands on my ring finger by Topshop and heirloom gift from my mum.  To give the entire look that sporty feel I went and added my H&M black felt baseball cap, this plays off with the black star print on the sweater, I think the cap adds a subtle sporty edge to the look because of the sleek solid black hue.  I finished off the accessories by wearing my grey chunky knitted long scarf by River Island to keep me warm in this cold and rainy day in London Town...LoL...

Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is my Primark duffle backpack to tie in with that sporty vibe that the baseball cap lends and give it it a subtle collegiate feel.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! ...XOXO...

LOTD :: Floral Extravaganza

"Floral Extravaganza"

LOOK OF THE DAY

Happy Tuesday! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

For today's look of the day is to somewhat match it with the sunny yet cold weather with a bright burst of colour and print and to be specific floral.  Floral is one of the trends that went on to continue after seasons past like the soft hues of pastels.  I paired my bright floral with dark garments and gold toned jewellery pieces to give it a more autumnal and winter feel.

We start off with a dark floral printed sheer button up by New Look paired with dark indigo wash denim skinnies also by New Look.  I tucked the button up into the denim skinnies and buttoned it all the way to the top for a prim and polished look, then I belted the denim skinnies with my Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo hand me down two toned leather waist belt to tie with the polished feel.  I then layered over my floral burst structured blazer by ZARA for that bright pop of colour and print.  For outerwear, I went with my black cape coat by H&M to finish off the entire look I added a faux fur stole also by H&M to keep me warm.

On bottom, I went with my nude patent lace up oxfords by New Look to offset the entire look.

For accessories, I played with the gold toned jewellery pieces via a curbed bar necklace by H&M followed by a simple analogue watch by ASOS and a few rings by Topshop and of course the ring my mother gave that I consider an heirloom.  I also added a floral pearl brooch by Topshop on the blazer to give it that applique look.

Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is my Primark studded flip clasp structured handbag in black (yes I recently bought the black version, for £12.00 it was a good steal) to play off with the gold tone jewellery and add further structure to today's look.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! ...XOXO...

LOTD :: Printed and Nerdy

"Printed and Nerdy"

LOOK OF THE DAY

Happy Monday! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  For today's look of the day I decided to get in touch with my geek/nerd side and go with a print on print prim and polished look.

We start off with a pink plaid button up by River Island paired with navy skinny trousers by H&M.  I tucked the shirt into the trousers and buttoned it all the way to the top for that polished feel, then I belted the trousers with my Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo hand me down tan woven leather waist belt.  To create that print on print combination I added an argyle printed jumper vest by Primark which also lends a nerdy touch and them layered over a navy blazer by H&M.  For outerwear, I went with my cool toned coat and that’s the grey long blended wool overcoat by ZARA to complete a polished and primed look of the day.

On bottom, I played with the pink on the button up and went with a lighter shade via my New Look shell pink lace up brogues.  Brogues are always perfect pairing with any polished ensemble as it gives it that extra elevation to primness and polishness.

For accessories, I went with a minimalistic approach via a simple digital watch by Casio and a simple silver band on my ring finger which is an heirloom from my Mother.  I finished off the accessories by added a lavender gingham printed bow tie by Topman to give it that nerdy look.

Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is my ZARA office city bag to tie in with the whole polished look that I am going for and to also lend additional structure to today's ensemble.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! ...XOXO...

LOTD :: Autumnal Chic

"Autumnal Chic"

LOOK OF THE DAY

Happy Thursday! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

Good Day! Everyone I hope y'all are having a wonderful morning/afternoon/evening.  For today's look of the day I decided to go with a polished autumnal feel look by of course piecing an ensemble that is of the autumnal colour scheme.  As the leaves continuously fall their colour of warm earth tones is the best inspiration for today's LOTD.

We start off with a red pin stripe button up by Thomas Pink paired with burgundy skinny trousers by H&M.  I buttoned the button up all the way to the top and tucked it into the trousers for a polished and prim look, then I belted the trousers with my Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo two toned leather waist belt.  I layered over my heritage printed tailored blazer by H&M for that done up look while still keeping a subtle element of effortlessness.  For outerwear, I went with a monochromatic mind set and chose my burgundy wool double breasted pea coat by Uniqlo.

On bottom, I went with a smart approach and wore my tan tasselled oxfords by New Look for that polished look and to also match the heritage print of the blazer giving the look that somewhat upper class vibe.  I may not be upper class but I can sure try to look like one...LoL...

For accessories, I went a statement necklace via a burgundy tiered necklace by New Look followed by a vintage brooch that I thrifted through a boot sale a few years back along with a simple analogue watch by ASOS by ASOS.  For my scarf it's I have on my tribal printed oversized scarf for the sole purpose of the colour match between the burgundy, orange, and dark & light browns to help me achieve a very autumnal over all look.

Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is my Michael Kors Ostrich Leather Hamilton dupe by JustFab.co.uk which is the orange power player handbag to match the scarf and give it the looks that earthy look creating an autumnal feel.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! ...XOXO...

LOTD :: Play Up With Textures

"Play Up With Textures"

LOOK OF THE DAY

HAPPY HUMP DAY! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

Hi, Hi I hope you are well... For today's look of the day I decided to play with different textures of garments to show off a fashion forward styling in a casual set up.  Today, I'm playing with fur, coated denim, knit and patent.  Some of you guys may not think this as your cup of tea but it's OK because fashion is limitless and can be executed in whatever way you desire.

We start off with my Topshop chunky leopard printed faux fur pull over that I recently bought from the sale, I paired this with my New Look black coated denim skinnies to give it a subtle edge and the perfect texture match up.  I belted the skinnies with my Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo wide tan leather waist belt to keep them on of course...LoL... As the pull over itself is extremely warm as is I just have a tee underneath and threw over my H&M faux shearling gilet with black leatherette trim tie-in belt to add extra warmth.

On bottom, I wanted to bring in more light into the look and I did this via my New Look nude patent lace up oxfords to play off with the different textures.

For accessories, I kept it simple by reaching out to warm toned jewellery pieces via a tiered tribal necklace by Claire's Accessories followed by a simple analogue watch by Sekonda and a couple of rings by Topshop.

Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is my Primark studded flip clasp structured handbag to lead clean lines and structure to today’s rather furry ensemble.  The studded handbag brings in a polished yet edgy touch to the look.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! ...XOXO...

LOTD :: Neon Tribalism

"Neon Tribalism"

LOOK OF THE DAY

Happy Tuesday! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

Hey guys fpr today's look of the day I've gone for a mix of moto and Aztec with a touch of bohemian feel.  I paired dark bottoms with bright tops to give subtlety.

We start off with a plain coral tee by New Look paired with dark indigo wash denim skinnies also by New Look.  I belted the jeans with my River Island tan concho style leather waist belt to tie in with the tribal inspired piece; I tucked the front of the tee into the jeans to give it that effortless casual feel.  I threw on my neon pink and black Aztec printed cardigan by Forever 21 unintentionally creates a slight colour block effect between the neon and coral.  For outerwear, I went with my black quilted moto leather jacket by Topshop which leads subtle edge to the overall look.

On bottom, I kept it simple and went with my black buckled ankle booties by New Look.  This brings in an element of edginess as well as the leather jacket.

For accessories, I opted to go with cool toned jewellery pieces via layering necklaces from H&M followed by a simple analogue watch by ASOS and a turquoise and silver bracelet by Topshop along with a few rings by Topshop and H&M.  The cool tones of the turquoise and silver offset the brightness of the top and cardigan and also lend a bohemian feel to the overall look.

Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is my Prada Saffiano wanna be handbag which is the ZARA office city bag to add structure and polish to a rather laid back and casual ensemble.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! ...XOXO...

LOTD :: Bringing Back The Nineties

"Bringing Back The Nineties"

LOOK OF THE DAY

Happy Monday! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

For today's look of the day I decided to channel my inner Clueless and go with a nineties inspired look that is effortless and casually chic.

We start off with an OMG stamped print outsized pull over by Primark paired with black high rise ankle grazer skinnies by Marks & Spencer.  I belted the jeans with my Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo two toned leather waist belt to keep it on my waist...LoL...  I kept the look basic and simple with a pull over and jeans combination but with accessories this looked became a flashback to the nineties.   For outerwear, I went with my Topshop varsity bomber jacket that is two toned in burgundy wool and black leather sleeves.

On bottom, I kept it simple and went with my black buckled ankle booties by New Look.  As the skinnies is an ankle grazer and cuffed this shows off the booties simplicity and edge at the same time.

For accessories, I went with cool toned jewellery pieces via a gem and spike necklace by New Look followed by a simple digital watch by Casio and a bunch of rings by Topshop and H&M.  I wore my chunky oversized leopard printed scarf by H&M for a little print on print action and for its intended purpose which is add warmth; I finished off the accessories by wearing my black wool pork pie hat by Topshop to completely provide a 90's vibe to today's look.

LOTD :: Monochromatic Rose

"Monochromatic Rose"

HAPPY FRIDAY! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

For today's look of the day I decided to go with a monochromatic palette of black and white with a bright pop of red all on one piece that I recently bought from a YouTube fashion guru online shop Fashionate by Dolly Bow Bow.   Today's look has a bohemian/western/rocker element that mixes well as a whole to give a chic and city slicker look.

We start off with a rose monochrome check jumper by Fashionate [Dolly Bow Bow] paired with my New Look black coated denim skinnies.  I belted the skinnies with my black leather waist belt by Salvatore Ferragamo which a Vintage hand me down.  I them layered over my faux shearling gilet with black leatherette trim tie - in waist belt by H&M to give the look a subtle boho feel.  For outerwear, I have on my trusty black leather quilted moto jacket by Topshop to keep me warm and give the look that rocker style.

On bottom, I wanted to create a streamlined silhouette so I went with my black faux suede ankle booties by New Look that has a bit of a heel for added height which gives me the illusion of longer legs.  The booties design also leads a western feel to the look.

For accessories, I went with a statement black necklace by Primark that I revamped followed by a simple analogue watch by ASOS and a few rings by Topshop, ZARA, and an heirloom.  To support Remembrance Day I am wearing a diamanté encrusted brooch by Marks & Spencer.  I finished off the accessories with my black gem brooch by Topshop that is always on my shearling gilet.

Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is my Prada Saffiano wanna be handbag which is the ZARA office city bag to go with the overall monochromatic look and add structure to today's look.

LOTD :: Chunky & Furry

"Chunky & Furry"

LOOK OF THE DAY

Happy Thursday! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

I am very sorry for going MIA, I have not been feeling well and literally had no energy to post LOTD’s but now I am back with a new hair style some new pieces to showcase on this blog so stay tuned…xoxo…

For today's look I am channeling my 90's roots and going for a chunky outsized pull over with a fur twist making this the hero piece and keeping the rest of the look simple yet chic.  The 90's was definitely a fashion era to remember as designers of this era is reinventing style from back then into timeless pieces for you to wear in era's to come.  This is the cycle of fashion it is all about reinvention.

We start off with a chunky and outsized faux fur leopard printed pull over paired with burgundy Jamie jeans both by Topshop although I got the pull over in the sale for half off.  I belted the jeans with my River Island tan concho style leather waist belt to match with the footwear.  For outerwear, I went with my trusty camel wool duffle coat by Uniqlo for that casual effortless feel.

On bottom, I went with my faux suede cross buckled ankle booties by New Look and kept it neutral with a subtle hint of edginess.

For accessories, I have gone with a minimalistic approach via a curved bar necklace by H&M followed by a simple analogue watch by ASOS and a stack of rings one by Topshop while the other is an heirloom from my Mum.  I finished off the accessories by wearing my plum leopard printed outsized scarf by H&M.

Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is the JustFab.co.uk dupe for the Céline Luggage Tote which is the Parisian in  cherry red.  I decided to pair this bag with look as the colour belongs to same colour family of the entire look.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! ...XOXO...
