LOTD :: Halloween Edition - Western Navajo

"Halloween Edition :: Western Navajo"

HAPPY Thursday! To all the Fashionista's of the world.

As Halloween is fast approaching I thought why don't I come up with outfit ideas that you can translate into a costume for the day itself, think of it as an inexpensive way to dress for the occasion as all you really need is what’s already in your wardrobe.  For the next few days I will be showing you guys wardrobe inspired outfits that easily translates into a Halloween costume.  [PS :: You don’t have to copy exactly what I have on as this is merely some sort of a guide.]

Day three of the Faireycakesz Halloween Chic Edition and today's feature is Western Navajo this is a two in one inspired look that can go either or.  I went with a general Navajo look but mixed it up by adding pieces that are western inspired to also give a western feel.  We start of with a plain white tee by H&M paired with burgundy trousers also by H&M, I them threw on a Navajo Style Long Cardigan by Primark and belted it at the waist with my Forever 21 dome studded stretch waist belt to give me some shape.  For outerwear, I went with my black cape coat by H&M.

The alternatives to this look are as follows:
1. Full Navajo - Switch the hat with bohemian hair accessories like a braided head band or hair feathers.  Give yourself a Native American eye make-up and that's it you’re done!

2. Full Western - Ditch the cardigan and use the belt as the belt for the cape to give it that bullet type accessory and then add a triangle scarf to give it a western bandit look after that all you'll need is a toy gun and you’re good to go.

On bottom, a buckled shoe always exudes western especially if the buckles are crossed.  The hardware effect gives it that cowboy type feel which is a must in a western look.  I chose to wear my faux suede cross buckled ankle booties by New Look.
For accessories, I went with warm toned jewellery pieces to match the burgundies in the look via a statement tribal necklace by Primark and a totem tier necklace by Forever 21 layered to make one big statement piece followed by a simple analogue watch and a turquoise and gold bracelet by Accessorize, I finished off the jewellery by adding a few rings by Topshop and Accessorize.  A western look is not complete without a wide brim hat here I have a black one by Marks & Spencer to match the cape coat.
Lastly, the chosen bag to go with today's pairing is the dupe for the CĂ©line Luggage Tote which is the JustFab Parisian in cherry red.  The bag seemed fitting to go with today's look as it is made out of faux crocodile leather the deep cherry redness of it ties in perfectly with the burgundy shades of today's look.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! ...XOXO...
