LOTD: Tailored Print on Print

"Tailored Print on Print"

Today's look is all about prim and polished with structure and tailoring.  I also incorporated a touch of chicness via a print on print combination to add spice and elevate the look from the basic smart look.

We start off with a medic print [I actually have no clue what the print is called, it just reminds me of the printed uniforms they wear in hospitals so I called it medic print.] button up that I got from Topman, paired with a burgundy high rise skinny trousers by H&M and belted it with a belt also from H&M.  As the button up has short sleeves I added on a black cardigan by River Island for extra warmth and then threw on my heritage printed tailored blazer by H&M to add that double printed chicness to the look.

Remember my tips to creating a print on look... When pairing Print on Print you have to keep in mind that prints are already visually busy on its own so you have to strategically pair a dominant print against a more subtle print, you want to make sure that both prints aren't fighting against each other but rather complementing one another and remember to always use neutral accents for everything else.

Coming back to today's LOTD...On bottom, I played off with the browns existing within the look via a pair of tasselled slip on oxfords by New Look which ties in well with the prim and polished look I am going for.

For accessories, I went with key statement pieces in gold tone jewellery via a braided chain necklace by Accessorize,  a vintage bouquet brooch that I purchased from a boot sale and a simple analogue watch by Sekonda.

The chosen bag to go with today's pairing is my Philip Lim PS1 Mini Pashli wanna be bag which is my Topshop Pushlock Cross Body in beige to lend structure to the look.

Lastly, the outerwear I chose to go with today's pairing is my Stone mac pea coat by Primark along with a knitted loop scarf by ASOS and a pair of burgundy leather gloves by Marks & Spencer.

That's it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…
