LOTD: Moto Tribalism

"Moto Tribalism"

LOOK OF THE DAY

Casual Edgy but put together is how I would describe today's ensemble.  The outfit is very day wear because of how everything all pieced together.

You have a print & texture combination that definitely brings edge to the look.

We start off with a Vintage Levi's denim button-up buttoned all the way to the top for polish instead of tucking the rest of the shirt in I kept it out to give it that casual feel, I then layered over a navy & white light weight bomber jacket that has Aztec Prints all over that was purchase in the sale at New Look.  I paired the top half of the look with my coated denim moto skinnies in this season's it colour "oxblood", this was a very inexpensive piece from H&M as it only cost me less then £15.

On bottom, I have these pair of Suede Ankle Booties from New Look that I purchased with 25% off because they were having a shoe sale.  What I LOVE about these booties is their resemblance to the Isabel Marant booties [image below].

For the accessories, I continued the Aztec Tribalism via a statement totem necklace by Forever 21, a statement tribal ring & some stack rings both by Topshop, and lastly, a simple analogue watch by ASOS.

The bag of the day is also another piece that resembles a designer item, it is my black office city tote by ZARA [recent purchase - it’s my early Christmas present…LoL…] it’s the high street version of the Prada Saffiano Black Calfskin Leather Tote Bag [image below] which retails at £1,150, whilst my ZARA tote only cost me £49.99.

Lastly, to complete the look today’s outerwear is my quilted leather moto jacket from Topshop and for the scarf it’s a grey chunky crochet knit long scarf by River Island.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Preppy Playful Utilitarian

"Preppy Playful Utilitarian"
LOOK OF THE DAY

The word that today's look brings to mind is "Effortless", reason: it has polish while keeping the over all feel of casualness and the added militant pieces gives it a subtle edge.  The look all comes together as a trendy ensemble.

You guys know that I love layering no matter what the weather is so I start off the look with a light wash denim button-up from New Look, I then layered over a navy wool pull-over with a Daisy Duck print it's slightly outsize but I like it that way.  I paired the top half of the look with an olive skinny cargo trousers from New Look which I got in the sale 2 summers ago for less than £10.

On bottom, I kept the militant feel via my tan soft leather ankle bootie that has exposed textile lining all over the opening and a crosse strap detail around it.  Coincidentally, I also got this in the Sale at New Look.

For the accessories, I went with gold tone pieces that mesh well with the militant vibe of the look so I opted for a chevron necklace from Forever 21 [store in the Philippines], a gold analogue watch by Sekonda and lastly an armour ring from H&M and a mix of stack rings from Accessorize and Topshop.

The bag of the day is the same as yesterdays and that is the 2-toned soft leather shopper bag from H&M.

Lastly, today's outerwear is a borrowed piece from my Mom's wardrobe and that's this black rain proof coat from OASIS.  What I love about this coat is the sheerling lining it's super soft and it definitely gives you warmth whether you wear open of buttoned up.  For my scarf, it is my chunky crochets cream long scarf from River Island.

That's it for today's Look Of The Day and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Casul Basic

"Casual Basics"
LOOK OF THE DAY

Today's look yet another casual ensemble...I'm not sure why but I have just been gravitating towards casual pieces in the last couple of days that have gone...

We start off with the base which is a striped vest to from New Look and then over that I is a sheer jumper top from H&M this was actually from the sale, I wanted to create this high neck line look so I wore the top backwards and because I didn't want my back to be out in the open I added on a asymmetric cardi from Marks & Spencers that I got from the sale for £19.50..what I love about this piece is the slight military inspired detailing via the epilettes on the shoulder.  I paired the top half of the look with my forest green denim skinnies from New Look to give it a little pop of colour.

On bottom, I went with my brown ankle booties from New Look to give a more earthy feel..

For the accessories, I definitely went super minimal via charmed necklace that was gifted to me by a good friend and a simple analogue watch from ASOS.  The reason for the minimalism is the variety of necklace charms so I thought it was only fitting to keep it simple.

The bag of the day is no other than my 2-tone Soft leather shopper by H&M.

Lastly, today's outerwear is also from H&M and it is a black blended wool anorak which also happens to be an item from the sale rack like the chunky crochet loop scarf that I got from Accessorize.

That's it for today's Look Of The Day and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Prepped Up Tribalesque

"Prepped Up Tribalesque"
LOOK OF THE DAY

It is yet another rainy day in London Town but unlike yesterday it's not as bad so I opted for a slightly prepped up look with a edgy twist.

We start of with the base which is a chambray button-up the piece that I have on is a vintage GAP that I studded [DIY] to give it a current and edgy feel.  Over that is Tribal printed vest top from Topshop [got this piece in the sale for £8.00].  I paired the top half with my dark wash high rise denim super skinnies from H&M.

On bottom, I went with my trusty black ankle booties that I bought from New Look to give the look a little stream line.

Now for the accessories, I went with pieces that has a tribalesque feel to it so I opted for my spiked and chains necklace from Forever 21, some silver tone rings from Topshop and lastly a I kept it simple with a Silver analogue watch from ASOS.

The bag of the day is the same bag from yesterday's look and that is my black hobo bag from Primark.

Lastly, today's outerwear is my first ever duffle coat which is made out of blended wool that I got from a boxing day sale in Blue Water shopping mall Topman branch 5 years ago.  As I recall I paid a little over £30.00 for it [BARGAIN RIGHT!!!] and for the scarf, i just went with my navy big scarf from Boutique Hong Kong.

That's it for today's Look Of The Day and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Casual Rainy Day

"Casual Rainy Day"
LOTD:

It’s a cold rainy day in London town today so I decided to go with a simple casual look to work today.

We start off with an Olive granpa top that I got in the sale at ZARA 2 summers ago paired with a simple black skinny jeans from Marks and Spencers.  Over the top is a black chunky knitted cardigan from GAP.

On bottom, I went with my brown midi boots with buckle details and back zip with red lining.

For accessories, I kept it somewhat minimal via a simple black watch, some arm swag, stack rings and a long chain necklace.

Today’s bag is a black hobo bag with fringing that I got from Primark for £9.00.  Super bargain right, I absolutely love this bag because it’s in a classic colour and it’s very roomy so I can fit a lot of stuff.

For the outerwear, I went with my plaid down gilet that I got from Esprit and for the scarf I just went with my chunky knit loop scarf from Accessorize.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Preppy Denim on Denim

"Preppy Denim on Denim"
 LOTD:

Today’s look of the day is my Preppy Collegiate approach with Denim on Denim.  You guys are probably thinking that denim on denim is and ugly combination and in a way I somehow agree but if executed the correct way you’ll have yourself an edgy look.

We start off with my vintage denim button-up from Levi’s [hand me down from my dad] buttoned all the way to the top for some polish, paired with a blue denim super skinnies that I for a less than £9.00 at Forever 21.  Over the button-up is my Oxblood quilted crew neck jumper from H&M.

On bottom, I went with my soft leather tan booties which elevate the look into a more Edgy Preppy look.

For accessories, I decide to keep it on the warm tones via gold jewellery pieces like my skull necklace that I got from a sale in Topshop for £3.00, a mix of rings form Topshop & Accessorise and a simple gold analogue watch from Sekonda.

The Bag of the day is my Taupe push lock bucket style satchel from H&M, it’s actually of their sale items when I got and would you believe I paid £7.00 for it.

Lastly, today’s outerwear is my wool and leather 2 toned bomber jacket that I got from a Topshop sale during spring and a chunky crochet knitted loop scarf from Accessorize also bought from the sale.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Geeky Collegiate Chic

"Geeky Collegiate Chic"
 LOTD:

I’m sure you guys have noticed that there are a number of “Geek” inspired looks and I myself am not sure why I’m gravitating towards this type of styling.

We start off with our base which is a pink plaid button-up buttoned all the away to the top for polish paired with navy skinny trouser from H&M. I wanted to create a clear separation of the garments so I synched it in by adding a tan skinny belt also from H&M.  On top of the plaid shirt is an Argyll printed sleeveless jumper that I got from Primark years ago [way back when I was still in school].  I wanted to go with a full on “geeky collegiate” styling so I added on a navy blazer to create a suit effect.

On bottom, I went with my dark brown leather lace-up brogues from New Look which was very inexpensive as they only cost me under £20.

For accessories, I decide to go with a minimal take with a hint of statement via a light purple gingham bowtie from Topman to add some print on print action, a bitten apple brooch from Accessorize and a simple silver analogue watch from Sekonda.

The bag of the day is the same bag from Monday’s LOTD which is my ZARA bag but this time I’m carrying it using the cross body strap that it came with it [detachable].

Lastly, today’s outerwear is a my trusty camel wool duffle coat that I got for over half price from the sale in Uniqlo 3 seasons ago and a blue scarf from the Flee Market.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: En Blanc et Noir

"En Blanc et Noir"
 LOTD:

For today’s look I give you Lady like Chanel meets Victoria Beckham with an edge.

Today’s look is a Blanc et Noir oriented look with pops of colour.  We start off with a black turtle neck from the heat tech collection by Uniqlo paired with a skinny black trousers from H&M, I tucked the top into the trousers and belted it with a patched work skinny belt from Bershka that has a reptile design and different mix of pastel colours which breaks off the top and bottom with a pop of colour(s).  I threw over my round neck cardi jacket [you’ll notice that there’s more structure to it and that’s thanks to some shoulder pads and a couple of safety pin.

On bottom, I decided to go with my black booties purely because it’s a rainy day in London today and I need to wear sensible shoes…LoL…but I do think that it meshes well with the look as it gives it a little bit of edge.

For accessories, I decide to use pieces with a warmer tone via gold pieces with hints of colour starting with the necklace that I got from the summer sale in accessorize, I actually found it on the “broken” pile because one of the crystal was cracked so I decided to conceal it by painting nail varnish over them, then I just have on some rings from Topshop and Accessorize and simple gold watch from ASOS.

Today’s outerwear is a black pea coat mac for Primark, I felt a little warm when I took the photo so I just draped it over my shoulder to give a “cape” look and for the scarf, I have a this black scarf that I got 5 years ago from Flee Market.

Lastly, the bag of the day is none other than my Mari Tote from Accessorize.

LOTD: Heritage Upper Classman

"Heritage Upper Classman"

The Full Outfit including Outerwear & Accessories

LOTD:

I sure hope everyone had a fabulous weekend, because I had a fabulous one…anyways today’s outfit is more on the “dapper” side.

We start off with the base for the look which is an oxblood turtle neck top from Uniqlo it’s actually a part of their heat tech collection this season very inexpensive and can be a staple basic for the colder season, paired with beige skinny trousers from New Look that I got for less than £15.00.  I belted the look with a skinny waist belt from H&M for the extra compliment the top and bottom gives each other.  I then added on a Heritage print Tweed style blazer also from H&M to give it a very posh look.

On bottom, I wanted to continue on with the Heritage Upper Classman vibe the look exudes and I thought my stone suede brogues would the perfect pair of shoes to go with the look, I actually them from New Look also for less than £15.00 a while back and no it was not in the sale…LoL…

For accessories, I kept minimal via a Vintage Bouquet gold brooch that I got for £5.00 at a boot sale a few summers ago, a simple gold watch from ASOS and a couple of rings from Topshop and Accessorize.

Today’s bag is my ZARA bag that I got in during my recent trip to the Philippines and if I may say so myself, I got this baby for a bargain, well only because of the currency conversation…LoL…

Lastly, the outerwear of the day is long wool coat with a detachable hoodie that I got in the Sale from ASOS it was previously over £100 and got it for £55.00 and the thing that I love about it the most is that the hoodie that it came with is made out of a jersey knit ish type material so if you take it off you can wear it as a snood…Cool Right!… For the Scarf I just have on a Faux Snow Leopard Fur Scarf that was gifted by my brother’s current girlfriend…

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Colour Me Noir

"Colour Me Noir"
LOTD:

This week, it’s all about the basic staple that everyone has in their wardrobe and I mean everyone because even babies have this…LOL…and this is none other than “The White Tee”.

I will show you guys how I style the white tee a few different ways to show you guys the versatility and how this piece can go from casual chic to elevated looks by pairing it with the right pieces.

Today’s look is my take on a “black with a pop of colour”.  We start off with the plain white tee from New Look paired with black high rise super skinnies from M&S, which I belted using my vintage ferragamo’s that were a hand me down.  These jeans are actually ankle grazer which made it super perfect to pair ankle booties.  I then went on and added a militant inspired blazer that I got from a Forever 21 sale which coincidentally where I also got the swan brooch an F21 sale well I paid less actually cuz I got it during a shopper’s event for F21 that I recently attended.

On bottom, I went with my black ankle booties that has cross strap detail, I actually also have these in brown which you have seen a number of times already.  I got them from New Look a while back.

For accessories, I just added on a simple silver watch and nothing else because I wasn’t all the focus to be on the swan brooch.

Today’s bag is an all-time favourite and it is my briefcase style carry-on by ZARA, this bag to me gives the look a very “smart” approach in terms of styling as it elevates the look to a more office appropriate vibe.

For the outerwear, I have on my black blended wool coat that is belted from River Island.  As you can see the majority of the look is very Black so I thought it would perfect to add a pop of colour and I do mean pop because the colour I chose is via a Red pashmina that I got a while ago from Tie Rack.  I just think it adds a fun vibe to the look given that it’s about the only colour in the entire look with the exception of the gems on the brooch.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

Today’s look is my take on a “Neon Tribalism”.  We start off with the plain white tee from H&M paired with blue denim skinnies that I got from Forever 21, basically your typical jeans and tee combo.  I belted it with a leopard print skinny belt from H&M to add a pop of print.  I then injected tribal inspired pieces via a neon tribal print cardi from Forever 21 definitely a piece I recommend you get I think they go around £27 not 100% but it’s definitely around that price range.

For accessories, I continued on with the tribal feel via wreath rings, tribal inspired rign bands and knotted ring, a turquoise gemmed bracelet and a gold watch and let us not forget the main piece of jewellery which is this totum chain link with chain fringing that I purchased from Forever 21.

On bottom, I decided to keep it simple via a simple tan bootie with cross strap detailing and exposed textile on the opening of the boot.

For today’s bag, I also kept it simple via a 2 toned soft leather shopper should bag from H&M very inexpensive because I got it for like £14.99 I do love finding a bargain especially at H&M…LOL…

For the outerwear and scarf, I just threw on my Topshop leather moto jacket to give the look a little bit of modern edge and draped over my navy scarf from boutique Hong Kong

Today’s look is my take on a “Skater Chic”.  We start off with the plain white tee from Topman and what I like about this white tee is that it’s form fitting and crew neck like it gives it a very masculine look and exactly what I wanted to go for, I then paired this with my burgundy wash denim skinnies also from Topman and yet again I belted it with this brown belt from river island.

Because of the cold weather I couldn’t very well just wear a jeans and tee combo so I went in and added this white vintage cardi that was a hand me down.

On bottom, I wanted to continue on with the masculine vibe so I went on and added a beige high top.  What I love about this high tops are the fact that there is a hidden wedge heel in the shoe to give me some extra height and also add the perfect “me” into the styling.

For accessories, I decided to pile on some arm swag to edge it up along with a simple watch and simple ring.  I also added a beanie to the look and as mentioned in a previous blog post I love beanies during the fall and winter season so have on a teal chunky knit beanie with pompoms.

Today’s bag is the same bag from yesterday’s LOTD which I bought from TK Maxx.

The outerwear of the day is one of my oldest jacket, I actually bought this during my school years so that was a while ago…LoL…it is a Winter Anorak in grey and it has a funnel neck type of design with four front pockets which gives it a very utilitarian vibe and for my scarf is actually a pashmina from tie rack that I got 2 summers ago.

"The Casual Lady Like"

Today’s look is all about “The Casual Lady Like” so we start off with our feature piece which is this U-shape neckline White Tee from ASOS paired with Navy Trousers belted with a Skinny Reptile Print Waist belt both from H&M.  Over the white tee I wanted to give it a chanelesque feel so I went with Striped Round Neck Cardi Jacket with Gold detailing on the buttons.

On bottom, I kept simple while still giving polish via a Nude Suede Lace-up Brogues from New Look.  For accessories, I wanted to take pieces that would tie in well with the “Lady Like” vide I’m going for so I went with gold tone pieces like a pearl bow ring, a heart spinner ring, a few twisted bands, a belt style clamp bangle, a gold watch and lastly, a neck lace that I got in the sale from Accessorize during the summer.  This piece was actually in the “broken” sale pile but the gems were still intact it was just a few metal piece that broke off so what I did was I covered the gems with neon nail varnish from Barry M.

For today’s bag of the moment, I went with my Taupe Carry-On Satchel with detachable Cross Body Straps from TK Maxx [I think this shop is called TJ Maxx in the US].

Lastly, today’s outerwear is this Double Breasted Blended Wool Pea Coat in this season “it” colour Burgundy and for scarf I just have on a long Chunky Crochet Knitted piece that I got from River Island a while back.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…
