LOTD: Geek Chic the "Minnie" Rebellion

Geek Chic the "Minnie" Rebellion

LOTD:

I call it Geek Chic the “Minnie” Rebellion geeky with an edge.

For today’s I decided to combine tough with geeky and playfulness with edgy.  We start off with a plaid button-up buttoned all the way to the top because that is the staple nerd look and then over that is this Minnie Mouse print pullover that has a hot pink bow and teal spots around the collar area which definitely gives it that fun vibe because of the bold colours. The look cannot be geeky without nerd glasses so I have on a pair in black to tie in with the rest of the black in the outfit.

I paired the tops with hot pink skinny trousers.  OK the reason why there is an explosion of pink hues in this look of the day is because it “Pink Day” in the office, this is our way of supporting breast cancer charities so wearing Pink helps…

I wanted to elevate the look to have a more edgy feel but still keeping the geeky styling as the base so I went on and added this sequence bow tie with spikes in the middle.  This pieces truly is a perfectly fit for today’s look, and of course I have on my poppy brooch.

The piece that really gave the look that sensationalist feel, is the leather moto jacket.  It definitely brings edge and elevates it to a tougher take on geek chic and by draping the scarf over and around the jacket creates juxtaposition between the different textures.

For the accessories, I went with dainty pieces via a neon arm candy bracelet, cutesy stack rings and a heart spinner ring.  Of course let’s not forget the watch.  Personally I feel naked if I don’t have a watch on.

On bottom, I decided to go for my soft leather ankle bootie and the reason why I think this ties in well with the look is that it has this exposed lining detail and cross buckle design.

Last but certainly not the least is the “it” bag in my wardrobe, the leather bucket bag with fringing.  This bag is certainly a go to piece especially for when the outfit styling is slightly on the edgy side.  Not only is it a carry on it also comes with a cross body strap so it’s definitely a multipurpose piece and a good investment if I say so myself…XOXO…

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Mickey Mouse Gone Punk

Mickey Mouse Gone Punk

LOTD:

So I decided I was going to go for a PUNKED UP look today but I didn’t want to go all out so I added a bit of playfulness to the look by incorporating a cutesy print.

We start off with a sweater top that has vintage Mickey Mouse print on it which gives the look a little playfulness I then layered over a studded denim vest which was a repurposed denim jacket that previously belongs to my brother, I hacked off the sleeves and studded the right shoulder and its brand new…  I paired this with Moto style grey denim skinnies.

On bottom, I wanted to give it a more punk look so I went with my studded combat boots.  For accessories, I just piled on some arm swag, a watch, some stack rings and a skull cross linked necklace to completely edge up the Mickey Sweater Top.

The bag of the day is a studded yellow canvas backpack that I recently got in the sale during an online shopping escapade.  I think the bag definitely elevated the look on a more punk level.

Last is the outerwear, I wore my camel wool duffel coat and for the extra added warmth I have on a printed scarf pinned together with my poppy brooch.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Western Bambi

Western Bambi

LOTD:

For today’s ensemble I wanted to give a country twist to the cutesy Disney icon that is Bambi.

We start off with the base for this look and that is this mustard yellow button-up and I had buttoned all the way to the top for that added polish and then over that I added on a plum knitted pullover with a Bambi Print in the middle which I thought gives the look that “cutesy” & “preppy” feel.  I paired this with dark wash denim super skinnies to mute down that 2 bold colour on top.

On bottom, I went with my brown leather lace-up brogues which add a polished prep to the look.  For accessories, I added on a western inspire collar tips to edge it up a little bit while still keeping that preppy polished look, I then continued with a poppy brooch which you will be seeing in a lot of my coming LOTD’s because of my support the “Remembrance Day” and lastly a simple white watch.

For my bag, I went with my leather mari tote in black which I love so much and have probably used it a lot of my LOTD’s.

Last but not the least, for today’s choice of outerwear I went with my wool oxblood double breasted pea coat that I got recently and I just love combining dark browns with deep reds because of the vampy look it gives off.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LFH: Fashion Zombie Model

"Fashion Model Zombie"

Look For Halloween
The Halloween Edition

So being that I just got back from holiday and my office Halloween party was coming very soon I didn’t know what I was going to as this year especially because this year’s theme is something “Scary” but as I am not much of a scary costume type of person I improvised.

This year I dressed up as a “Fashion Model Zombie”, I thought I would be somewhat scary but still have my style aesthetic.  For this look all I had to was take pieces from my wardrobe, although the entire look was carried by the make-up which took me about an hour to do because I have this thing where I can do something better on the right side of my face but have a difficulty replicating it on the other side…LoL…but with patience and a ton of contouring and shading I manage to make myself look like a zombie…

For the ensemble, we start off with a hot pink vest race back top because the blouse with black heart print is a bit sheer and it’s cold outside so I didn’t want freeze myself.  I paired it with a floral printed high rise shorts also in a pink colour so effectively I’m creating a print on print look here well it more like an explosion of print on print because I also added spotted tights and printed knee highs to create this look.

For accessories, I went minimal via a Sequence Spiked Bow, a Gold Watch, and a Gold Bangle and a few stack Rings.

On bottom, I’m wearing these Hot Pink Cut-Out Platform Slingbacks that I got in the SALE 2 years ago.  I actually bought them for a comic relief charity event back in 2010.  The shoe definitely elevated the look to be more modelesque because it made me 5½ inches taller…

For the hair, I just back comb the top of my hair and sprayed half a can of hair spray to achieve this hive effect and dusted baby powder to give it more edge.

That’s it for this years LFH and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Bright Grunge

Bright Grunge

LOTD:

Today’s look of the day is another version of a previous LOTD [Grunged-Up Prep].

We start off with this bright magenta jumper that has this crochet design over an acid wash denim button-up buttoned all the way to the top for polish, I paired this with a grey wash denim super skinnies.

I thought this version is more light and bright than the last one because of the loud mixed with light toned neutral pieces.

On bottom, I went with Sand colour Combats with studded embellishments DIY of course, I actually wore thick socks over the jeans and had it peeking out of the boots to give it more of a grunge feel.

For accessories, I decided to go with gold tone pieces because I think gold goes well with magenta and I just love the combination together so I have on stack rings, a tribal inspired necklace, a gold watch, and belt style clamp bangle.  For my bag, I went for a cross body satchel that has a unique bucket bag style to it.

As it was a cold cold day in London Town today, I went with my trusty duffle coat and for the extra warmth I have on a scarf that I got from a sale in Hong Kong.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Casual Fall Day to Geek Chic

Casual Fall Day to Geek Chic

LOTD:

Today’s look of the day is a combination of a Casual Fall Day and Geek Chic.  This is basically a 2in1 look slightly transform from one style to another all by adding a few outerwear piece.

We start off with a Peter Pan Collar Top as the base and over that is a ¾ Sleeve Crochet Knit Jumper paired with Navy Wash Denim Super Skinnies.  I then put my contact lens on and wore my “Nerd” Glasses and instantly the look is geeky with a casual chic feel.

For the accessories, I decide to go for Silver tone pieces via silver rings and a digital watch, I feel that by adding silver tones the look gives off a more casual vibe rather than the prepped-up geek styling which geek chic tends to be most of the time.

On bottom, I went with my Soft Leather Tan Booties for comfort and warmth of course and I just think it works really well with the Peter Pan collar that peeking out of the jumper.

For outerwear, I went with another knitted garment via a Chunky Outsize Cable Knit Cardi because the jumper I'm wearing is made of wool so I thought that would be warm enough if it gets really cold outside.  For extra warmth I simply added a Navy Crochet Chunky Cowl Neck Scarf that I purchased from the sale last year.  By adding these 2 pieces the look went from Geek Chic to a Casual Fall Day ensemble.

Lastly, a geek chic ensemble is never complete without a satchel.  The thing that I love about this satchel is that it has a vintage feel to it because of the push lock detailing on the cover flap and the best part of this bag is that you can wear it 2 different ways, you can carry it as a shoulder bag or a back pack which I think is a really neat thing to have in a bag.  Talk about Fierce Functionality.

That’s it for today’s LOTD and until the next time…FASHION IS THE DICTATOR OF TASTE! …XOXO…

LOTD: Heritage Posh English Country

Heritage Posh English Country

LOTD:

For today’s Look Of The Day, I thought I’d be on trend by wearing the “it” colours of the season Oxblood and Burgundy.  I give you the Heritage, Posh English Country inspired look.

We start off with a Printed Button-Up as the base and layered over a Tweed Heritage Printed Blazer paired with a belted Burgundy Wash Denim Super Skinnies.  I like how the Print on the top compliments the subtle Heritage print of the jacket which definitely gives it a forward look because of the print on print combo while still keeping it current by pairing it with the burgundy.

As today’s weather was slightly warmer than the past days I decide not to wear a coat but instead just drape over Fur via this Detachable Fur Lapel and a Wool Wide Brim hat which will give me enough warmth should it gets colder later in the day and if extra warmth is require I always carry an extra cardi in my bag during the fall winter season for when I get super cold.

For accessories, I went really minimal and used gold toned pieces like this Braided Chain Link Collar Necklace and a Gold Watch.

On bottom, I decide to wear something light so I went with my Nude Suede Lace-Up Brogues.

Lastly, I have on my Contrasted Handle 2-Toned Carry On to give some structure to the look and help complete this Look Of The Day…xoxo…

LOTD: Indie Chic Tribalism

Indie Chi Tribalism

LOTD:

I thought of going for an Indie Chic type of look today so I give you this Rocker with a Tribal inspired ensemble…

We start off today’s look with a Pink Tribal Printed Top that recently purchase during a sale escapade in the High Streets of London, I paired it with a Black High Rise Denim Super Skinnies and threw over a Black Blazer to give it some polish.  I kept the indie chic vibe by cuffing the sleeves of the blazer and pushing them up to elbow level.

On bottom, I went with my Black Booties that has a cross buckle detail.  For accessories, decided to match the outfit with silver tone jewellery pieces via Chevron neck piece, silver watch & bracelets and silver rings.

For today’s jacket I decide to temporary revamp an Old Blazer owned by my brother [he grew out of it but luckily it fits me], I cuffed the sleeve to give it a boyfriend style look as it is boxy and draped a faux Fur Detachable Lapel to give it that coat look.

Lastly, I’ve gone with my trusty Black Leather Bucket Bag with Leather Fringing to carry my things and to complete this Indie Chic Tribalism Look of the Day…xoxo…

70's ish & Militaryesque

LOTD:

Happy Monday to All! … Today’s look of the day is a mix of 70’s ish & Militaryesque styling, being that it’s a misty/foggy day in London Town is found today’s ensemble very fitting to the weather.

We start off with the base which is a Black & Taupe Contrasting Button-Up, paired with an Indigo Wash Denim Super Skinnies.  Over the button-up is a Military Style Blazer and belted the skinnies with a Vintage Black Leather Waist Belt.  I buttoned the shirt all the way to top to give it polished and added a Pearl Bolo Neck Piece to slightly elevate the look.  I draped over a Black Belted Pea Coat Mac with a Dark Brown Detachable Fur Lapel to give a “cape coat” look and to give it a somewhat 70’s ish feel.

On bottom, I went for my Tan Suede Lace-Up Brogues which adds more polish to the look.  For accessories, I continued the gold motif and went with my Gold Analogue Watch, a Belt Style Clamp Bangle and an Oval Black Stone Ring with gold detailing.  To continue on with the 70’s ish feel I wore my Pure Wool Wide Brim Contrast Bow Hat.

Lastly, I chose to carry my stuff in my Black Leatherette Mari Tote as I thought it meshed well the look being that it has gold hardware detailing on the handles.

Hope you guys like it…xoxo…

LOTD: Grunged-Up Prep

Grunged-Up Prep

LOTD:

Today's look is very fitting with the current weather London Town has, Cold & Wet, so I decided to go for a what I call a Grunge Up Prep.

We start off with an Acid Wash Denim Button-Up buttoned all the way to the top for polish and over this is a 3/4 Sleeved Forest Green Wool Jumper  to give it a preppy feel.  I paired the top half with a Dark Wash Denim Super Skinnies to bring is a little edge because of the denim on denim pairing.

As the weather todays is cold and wet I decided to go with my Camel Wool Hooded Duffle Coat to keep me warm.

Now it's time to talk about the accessories on today’s looks which really helped elevate the looking into having that grungy feel while still keeping it somewhat polished.  First off is the Hanging Spikes & Chain Collar Necklace which really subdued the would be preppy vibe.  I decided to cuff the sleeves of the denim button-up being that the jumper only had 3/4 sleeve and to show off some dainty arm swag, like a Black Watch, a Mary Wooden Bracelet, and a Reptile Print Wrist Band.  I decided to only wear one ring so I went with my Titanium Ring.

Recently, I have been kind of liking Beanies and feels that they do add a grungy feel to an outfit so I have on my NEW Gun Metal Gray Beanie w/ Pompom Tip [a recent purchase] and I am absolutely loving this new addition to my hat collection.

On bottom, I went full on grungy via a DIY Studded Combat Boots.  I definitely think that the boots fit perfectly with the look that I’m trying to achieve definitely helped elevate the look.

Lastly, I went with a Leatherette Hold All to carry my stuff around and to also complete today's Look Of The Day...

LOTD: Preppy Nautical Militaryesque

Preppy Nautical Militaryesque

LOTD:

For today's look of the day I decided to go for a Nautical Militaryesque outfit with a hint of sweetness by mixing print on print.

We start off with the base for the look which is a Pink Blouse w/ Black Heart Prints, I buttoned it all the way to the top to add polish and add that sweetness to the look because of the hearts.  Over the blouse is a White Stripped Pull Over to give the look an even more preppy look and add a nautical feel.  I paired the top of half of the look with a Blue Denim Super Skinnies for a casual feel.

For my coat, I wore a Navy Military Style Double Breasted Jacket  and to add extra warmth I have on a Cream Scarf.  For accessories, I went for a minimalist take by only wearing a Silver Digital Watch.

On bottom, I wore my Beige Lace-Up Oxfords to continue on with the preppy(ish) vibe.  Lastly, I chose to carry my stuff in my Taupe Buckled Style Cross-Body Satchel and help complete today's Look Of The Day.

Utilitarian Chic

LOTD:

Today's look is a Utilitarian inspired look.  We start off with a Heat Tech Top as our base and over that I have on a Mesh Knit Jumper in White paired with a Slate Cargo Skinnies which serves as the main "utilitarian" piece of the entire look.

For accessories, I for simple pieces like my Robot Long Chain Necklace, a Titanium Ring and a Silver Digital Watch.  As it's cold outside I went with my Dusty Pink Perforated Leatherette Bomber Jacket and a Lavender/Gray Scarf that I got in Hong Kong.

On bottom, I wore my trusty Hidden Wedge Hi-Top Trainers for the extra lift and I just thought that it meshed in well with the look that I am going for.

LOTD: Textured Print on Print

Textured Print on Print
LOTD:

Today's look is definitely on the prim and polished side in comparison from yesterday's ensemble.  We start off with the base which is the Red Pin Striped Button-Up buttoned all the way to the top to give off a more Prim and Polished feel followed by a Houndstooth Outsize Cardigan.  [Quick Tip: When pairing Print on Print you have to keep in mind that prints are already visually busy on its own so you have to strategically pair a dominant print against a more subtle print, you want to make sure that both prints aren't fighting against each other but rather complementing one another and remember to always use neutral accents for everything else.]

I paired the top half with a Black High Rise Super Skinny.  For today's outerwear I opted for a Thick Blazer that has a boxy fit and added a detachable fur lapel.

On Bottom I went for my Tan Lace-Up Suede for comfort and for Accessories, I decided to keep it simple while still providing just the right amount of statement I require for this look.

Lastly, I went with my 2 Toned Boxy Carry-On to complete the look.

==Outfit Breakdown==

| Boyfriend Style Box Fit Blazer - H&M
| Houndstooth Outsize Cardi - Primark.

LOTD: Casual Monday

Casual Monday
LOTD:

I firstly would like to apologise for going MIA, this is due to me being away on Holiday…the Vacation spot I went to in the Philippines didn't have wifi so I wasn't able to post anything for a month but worry not as I am back with your Daily Fashion Fix…

Today's outfit is a very casual Monday in the office…I decided to go with a laid back sporty(ish) type of look.  I started of with a Vintage Mickey Print on a Lose Fit Jersey Top that I purchased in the Philippines during my holiday, paired with a Super Skinny Coloured Denim Jeans.  For accessories, I went for a simple minimalist touch so I just wore a Chevron Necklace also purchased during my holiday and 2 Toned Duo Textured Watch.

On bottom, I went for my trusty Hidden Wedge Hi-Top Trainers that I absolutely adore it's definitely a favourite wardrobe piece of mine.  To add to the "Sporty(ish)" feel of the look I went for my Bowlers Bar in White & Red to tie in white the Mickey colour.

As it's already Autumn and it starting to become super chilly outside here in London Town, I added on my Camel Wool Duffle Coat for warmth and lastly, a Gray Scarf completes the Look of the Day…
